Some
street parking is available within the town, please take care
to read the street parking signs however for time permitting
duration varies from street to street.
Blyburgate
Car Park - A large car park exists in Blyburgate, this
area has a number of 'free' parking slots for up to 30 minutes.
It is a large parking area, and also contains the Rainbow supermarket.

Hungate
Car Park
- This parking area is limited to space, at peak times you may
find it hard to park here. It is extremely close to local shops.

Smallgate
Car Park
- A small car park, very useful for town centre access. (This
is a pay and display Park)
Beccles
Quay
- There are a limited number of 'free' parking spaces at the
Quay, these spaces are also time limited. Ideal for the wonderful
River area. A larger park may be found further along the quay
opposite 'Travis Perkins'.
Puddingmoor - There is a parking
area at the Bungay end of Puddingmoor, this area whilst 'free'
is an unmade area and can during wet periods become very muddy.
Beccles
Common
- A further parking area exists at Beccles Common, it is an
unmade (gravel) area with a number of spaces. This park is mainly
used for visitors to the common or Golf Club. It is a ten minute
walk from the town centre.
There
are a number of public conveniences within the town.
Blyburgate

- At the Blyburgate street end of this park, a well maintained
modern facility exists.
Hungate
Car Park
- A small toilet facility is provided
Beccles
Bus / Coach Station
- This is situated in 'Old Market', from the large central Church
walk away from the town centre towards the Quay. Old Market
is situated on your right hand side, the toilets are also on
the right within Old Market.

- Toilet facilities are provided opposite the Tourist Information
Office.
It
is also possible to find public toilets at two of the towns
supermarkets. At the "Rainbow Supermarket" situated
within the Blyburgate car park, and at "Safeways"
supermarket in George Westward Way. Both of these are subject
to store opening times.
Half
day closing in Beccles is on a Wednesday,
but many of the shops remain open. Most essential services may
still be found. Supermarkets are open until late evening.
The
towns traditional Markets are held on Friday of each week. There
are two main Markets running at this time.
The
street Market
may be found at Newmarket street (opposite Woolworths) and is
a market constructed of stalls containing produce such as, fruit
& veg, a fresh fish stall, small clothes section, farm produce,
and health foods.
The
Livestock Market
may be found in Gresham Road, (walking down Station Road, Gresham
Road is on your left just before you reach the towns Railway
Station) it is a Market that has a large auction room, along
with various D.I.Y sales such as timber, tools, and tiles. An
area where livestock and rabbits etc may be purchased. With
some refreshments available
The
town also has a Womens Institute
(W.I.) market indoors at the Quaker Hall in Smallgate, produce
does sell early here, so try to be on time or you may be disappointed.

The
tourist information office is situated at Beccles
Quay, alongside the river itself.
The
towns Hospital and Medical Centre are situated within the same
grounds in St Mary's Road. From the town walk along London Road,
passing the Police Station. At the traffic lights turn right,
you will find these premises situated on your left hand side.
The
Hospital does contain a facility for minor injuries, but it
is not a major Accident & emergency centre, whilst the Medical
Centre is a large practice with nine general practitioners.
There
are two pharmacy facilities in the town, opening times out-of-hours
will vary, and as in most towns they compliment each other for
emergency provisions opening times. These times are displayed
in the window.

Chemist
- in the town centre (opposite the Kings Head Hotel) houses
one of these pharmacys.
Beccles
Medical Centre
- Houses the second of these facilities, which is just inside
the main entrance on your left hand side.
Beccles
Sports Centre may be found in Ringsfield
Road, it has facilities for the general public such as
squash, Badminton, and Tennis.
Ringsfield
Road is situated just out of the town centre. Following the
London Road past the Police Station, turn right at the traffic
lights and proceed past the Beccles Hospital and the splendid
Catholic Church, turning left into Ringsfield Road. The sports
centre is approximately 350 yards along this road on your left
in the grounds of the Sir John Leman school.
There are alternative routes to this centre that you may wish
to take.
Be
aware that during school term times you may find that the centre
is used by the Sir john leman school pupils.
