There is a well established sailing club at Beccles, this club has a large membership. Tourists to the river should be aware that it is common for yachts and dingy's to be seen in quantities within the area, care should be taken.

There are also day boats available for hire from the Beccles area, mainly motor driven and relatively slow moving, they provide a most wonderful way to absorb the scenery whilst relaxing on the river.
