The River Waveney


The Beccles River Waveney is an integral part of town life. Click here for information of the quay, this section will be helpful to all. The entire quayside area is relaxing for a stroll during any season of the year. The Beccles sailing club has it's headquarters just 200 yards along the river side towards Oulton Broad, you will also find a variety of river attractions as you browse this part of the web.

Did you Know?


The River Waveney is effected by tidal flow. At times the water level rises to engulf the quayside, and is often seen lapping the Loaves and Fishes public house.

This will normally be found during the winter months, and due to the curious nature of the British, this also attracts many people to the Quay.
