Midway between the towns of Oulton Broad and Beccles may be found the well maintained mooring area of Burgh St Peter Staithe. This location houses a well stocked shop, a public house and restaurant, along with a leisure centre containing an indoor swimming pool. A location well worth a visit.

The Beccles quayside is well worth a lengthy visit, (see the Quayside section) one may also find a childrens play area at this location, along with good public convieniences.

At Geldeston the famous 'Locks' public house is said to be haunted, and has been the subject of a book on this subject. It is also known for being one of the rare public houses without electricity, reliant on lamps and candles.
